The Wind River KOA Campground is easy to get to and has plenty of amenities, making it the ideal homebase for an adventure in or around Dubois. It’s close to the heart of town if you want to get a meal out or groceries, but it’s also right on the Wind River, where you can fish for a trout dinner. Besides the beautiful river, there are mature trees all over the property, and views of the nearby hills.
There are three campsite options here—46 RV sites, nine cabins, and eight tent sites—and some have both water and electric hookups. The RV and tent sites are pet-friendly, as are a some of the cabins. If you are looking for comfortable camping, look no further, as Wind River offers WiFi and cable TV at select sites, a snack bar, a game room, a 24-hour laundry room, and even a heated indoor pool. There’s also a playground area and a pavilion, and firewood available for sale.
There’s plenty of space at the campground and the owners regularly host special events like ice cream socials and live music. Visitors consistently praise how clean the bathrooms and cabins are, and many visitors return year after year to the “best campground in Wyoming.”
